Three Good Things

A daily exercise to reflect on and document three positive occurrences, fostering optimism, countering negativity, and enhancing overall well-being.

  1. Create a Quiet Moment: Find a quiet moment in your day. This could be in the morning when you wake up, during a lunch break, or in the evening before bed.
  2. Reflect on Your Day: Think about the events of your day (or the day before). Consider both large events and small moments.
  3. Identify Three Good Things: Find three positive things that happened during the day. They don't have to be significant; even small things like a tasty meal, a kind word from a friend, or a pretty sunset can count.
  4. Write Them Down: Write down these three things. Try to be as specific as possible about what happened and how it made you feel. This reinforces the positive experience.
  5. Repeat Daily: Try to make this a daily habit. Consistently focusing on positive events can gradually shift your mindset and help you notice the silver linings more often, even in challenging situations.
